Birkdale Animal Hospital  is proud to present the third annual kids triathlon series.  This year we hope to top 2009 attendance records.  There is a race cap of 220 athletes per race and we are sure to hit this number so register early. We had over 800 racers last year with over 40 completing all 4 races.
This is North Carolina's largest kids triathlon series and one of the largest in the nation. We look forward to more kids being challenged by the sport, the course, and seeing the thrill of the points championship.

We have many new changes for 2010. The most important change is there will only be online registration through SETUPEVENTS.COM. Starting January 1st 2010 you can go online to their website and register. There is limited same day registration that starts at 3:30pm race day but if the race fills on-line there will be no open spots the day of the race. It is a gamble that you take if you decide to register race day.  5:15 is cut off time for registration race day.  One of the other changes is there will be pool lane assignments for all athletes. There will be no more rush for a pool lane! Our largest groups will be split into male and female divisions having separate starting times to decrease the number of athletes on the course at one time. All races are completed at the Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatic center located on 11725 Verhoeff Dr. Statesville rd in Huntersville NC.  Go to www.hffa.com for information and directions.

Charity: we have chosen Barium Springs home for children as our charity to support with proceeds from these races. We encourage all racers to give back to their community and those in need. Huntersville Family fitness and Aquatic center also helped develop this event and graciously stages the events each year in their beautiful facility. HFFA also offers adult and children's triathlon training year round. Kathy Goody is a USTA certified triathlon trainer and recognized triathlete. This event is a success due to the facitlity and staff that HFFA has. There is not one single part of this event that is not crafted by HFFA. Cool Breeze Cyclery has been critical for the preparation and running of these events. They are also a founding sponsor of these races and offer tech support and gear for all the riders. Cool Breeze has opened a new TREK store off of harris Blvd in charlotte. They are the only triathlon/bike shop that has a presence at every triathlon at HFFA. This event could not be put on without them. Stop by the shop and ask sarah about all the adult and childrens triathlon opportunities.
CiCi Pizza and EEZ: We have been lucky to have both these fantastic restaurants helping us support the race. They provide the food for the races and also some the prizes the kids have enjoyed. The huntersville area is lucky to have such a supportive group. They are the prominent figure at so many kids , school, and community events. If you have not taken your kids to both these places you are missing out. We highly encourage your support of them while they help our kids reach new goals.
Set up Events is the premier triathlon events group in the nation. They offer races distances for kids all the way up to Ironman distances. We are proud to use them as our exclusive timing system.
Chick-Fil-A Northlake has been a great partner with us for the last 2 seasons. The Hatzopoulos family have offered their fine food and also have a great athlete in their daughter Chloe!
The Butter Bean has joined the kids series this to help us introduce a natural option to the local area. They offer local food choices for the kids and their families.
